COURTNEY LEANN MILLER

Mrs. Courtney Leann Miller 15, of Keystone Heights passed away suddenly on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Shands at Starke Hospital.  She was born in Goshen, Indiana on January 26, 1996 and was a student at the Keystone Heights High School.  She had attended the Trinity Baptist Church and also volunteered for the Keystone Height United Methodist Church Thrift Store.   She loved the water, fishing and taking care of animals.  Courtney’s mom Anna Marie (Booker) Miller had preceded her in death in 2001. Her survivors are her parents, Rhonda Yates and Randy Hall; Maternal Grandmother, JoAnn Swindell, all of Keystone Heights.  She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Yates, Charles Jasper Hall, William “Billy” Lee Miller, Randy Darryl Hall, II, Alex Lock, and a host of many other extended family members. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 24 in the Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. James Peoples officiating.  Burial followed at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family is asking that contribution please be made to the Humane Society, 4205 NW 6th Street, Gainesville, FL 32609. Mr. Nathan W. Pugh was born September 13, 1982 in Pensacola, Florida and passed on Sunday, June 19, 2011, in St. Augustine, Fla.  He was a graduate of Walton High School and Magna Cum Laude English degree graduate from Flagler College.  He is survived by his parents, Ron and Marsha Pugh, his sister, Kristen Rhodes and family, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews. He was currently employed with the Clay County School District as an 8th grade Language Arts teacher at Green Cove Springs Junior High and served as Language Arts Department Chair.  In 2010 he was selected by his peers as the Teacher of the Year. He had a passion for learning and teaching.  He will be missed but will forever remain in the hearts of all those he’s touched.    

Rev. Dr. Ralph Patterson, age 91, of Penney Retirement Community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 21, 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Patterson Hannay, his son-in-law David Hannay; and his daughter-in-law Joy Humprey Patterson. He also had four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a retired pastor and camp director who also served on the Board of Directors as Chair of the Human Resources, and as Director of the AARP Volunteer Tax Program. A Watched Pot Never Boils

To spring break, or not to spring break....that was the question in early March.  On the horizon was 10 days of vacation we could use to get outta dodge, or stay home and wait for the house to 'happen'.  We decided to get outta dodge, and what a good decision that was!  Around Indianapolis, IN, on our first-ever road trip, we got word from the Village of DG that our permit was approved :)  Framers, let the framing begin!  While we funned and sunned in Savannah, GA, and Hilton Head, SC, our house was becoming a reality.  What a treat to see progress when we drove down Lyman Avenue on April 2nd!!!  Here are some pictures of what was happening while we vacationed, and also a few of our vacation, just to keep you interested.  Good things come to those who wait!!!
