Why is it that people think we shouldn’t be receiving any assistance from others outside of Jacksonville? As a state, I feel we are all in this together. Obviously, we need a new location for the water plant, but we’re also not the ones that chose that location. The U.S. has helped many others outside our jurisdiction, but when we want to help our own, there’s still someone who isn’t happy with the results. To you Bible-thumping, hatred-teaching so-called “Christians” who use the Bible to preach your hatred to homosexuals, you keep throwing out Leviticus 18:22. What about Leviticus 19:17? If you want to take the Bible so literally, then check out your clothes you put on every day. After you read Leviticus 19:19, I would bet money you have two different types of materials on. Grow up and read what Jesus taught us. Love, acceptance, change. If any other states are considering legalizing gay marriage, they should hold referenda to allow the voters to decide the issue. Experience has shown that, if the people are allowed a voice, gay marriage will be defeated every time. This is preferable to having gay marriage shoved down our throats by activist state Supreme Court justices who want to legislate from the bench. Why should only nine individuals have the power to impose their political agenda on the millions of people who reside in a state? Why is it that you can comment on things like the gay issue without any problems as long as you agree with them? An opinion is just that, and all have rights to an opinion. Don’t try to cram your gay rights trash down my throat and expect me to remain silent. That’s how we got so immoral in this country now. Stand up for right and quit giving in to pressure from the other side. Right is right. The 117 board members kept talking about the survey they had people fill out concerning the facility plan. I know a ton of people who had an opinion but never received that survey. Those who did have told me that it was very poorly written. They need to have a third party write a survey and mail them to the people of Jacksonville, or get volunteers to go door to door. Also, the African-American population has not be fairly represented in these decisions. “Blagojevich stopped to hug one onlooker and thanked her for her support. Another onlooker jeered, calling to Blagojevich to enjoy his time in jail.” Nice touch by the second onlooker.
