Stocks just couldn`t hold on to those morning gains, falling in the last 90 minutes of the session for the fifth consecutive loss. Now let`s begin with today`s trade of the S&P 500. The intraday here, and we can see, bouncing along throughout the morning, mid-afternoon, and then falling off the edge there, right around 2:00 p.m. Eastern time in advance of the speech from Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Bernanke, to end with the fractional loss.

Now one energy stand-out was Sunoco (NYSE: SUN). It had the biggest gain in the sector, up a nice 4 percent, heavy volume came on the buying interest that we saw today. Morgan Stanley (NASDAQ: NBXH) (NYSE: MS) increased its outlook and its price target. The company will be splitting off its coal unit and selling some other assets, so the analyst at Morgan Stanley (NASDAQ: NBXH) (NYSE: MS) figures it could pay a dividend of up to $20 per share.
